Alternate Universe is a free, futuristic-themed MUD inspired by the work of Banks, Niven, Gibson, Adams, etc. You start out on the surface of the planet 'Xylan', which is being gradually destroyed by a war over ever-diminishing resources. From there, you should find your way to a space station ("Sigma Station"), which has its own living quarters, grand hall and bar, among other things. From there you are free to explore the universe which contains many puzzles and several large areas. The game is under active development and is steadily expanding. |
